Category: Desserts Style: American Servings: Yields - 60 Description: This famous classic American cookie is a treat no matter what the age or occasion. Ingredients: * 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon baking soda * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened * 3/4 cup granulated sugar * 3/4 cup packed brown sugar * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 2 large eggs * 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels * 1 cup chopped nuts Directions: PREHEAT oven to 375° F. COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. How to determine steak tenderness just by using your hand. There are two basic methods to test for how done your meat is while you are cooking it—use a meat thermometer, or press on the meat with your fingertips. The problem with the meat thermometer approach is that when you poke a hole into the meat with a thermometer, it can let juices escape, juices that you would rather have stay in the meat. For this reason, most experienced cooks rely on a “finger test” method, especially on steaks (whole roasts are better tested with a thermometer). My mother has been trying to get me to test meat with my fingertips for years, and for years, being somewhat of a scaredy cat (won’t it burn my fingers?) I ignored, avoided, ran away from the idea.
